Selecting the ASystem Spreadsheet

Several years ago a QuickDog user was kind enough to write a spreadsheet program using Microsoft Excel '97 which would use an EXPORT TEXT FILE from QuickDog (See FILE Menu Bar, and EXPORT RACING DATA feature).

QuickReckoning obtained the author's permission to allow QuickDog users access to this spreadsheet.  Other than demonstrating to the reader how to access the spreadsheet and updating the directions for that spreadsheet given QuickDog's changed menus, we offer no other support in its use.  However some forum members do use the spreadsheet and the reader should ask questions there.  The spreadsheet was initially done using Excel 1997.

The first time the user clicks on this feature QuickDog must download this spreadsheet from the QuickReckoning web site.  The user will see a display similar to that shown in Figure 1.

After a successful download (the user must be online), a prompt is given as shown below in Figure 2.

Figure 2 - Installing ASystem - Select "Setup"

Simply select the "Setup" button.  If any popup window appear like the one shown in Figure 3, then type "A" for "ALL", and the installation will complete.

Finally and only if you have Microsoft Excel installed on your computer (or a work a like spreadsheet) a display similar to the following will appear.  See Figure 4.

The direction shown on line 6 is not quite accurate with versions of QuickDog after May 1, 2010.  That line should read

"Using QuickDog make a "TEXT ONLY" Export Racing Data (found on the FILE Menu Bar drop down menu).  Use 12 lines per race card."

There is no "CONVERT MENU" within QuickDog after May 1, 2010.

For those of you who do not have Microsoft Windows Excel, you might look into download the Open Source Office product found here - Open Source Office.
