Manage Racing Data

This Menu Bar item serves much the same purpose to what was described in the introduction of this User's Guide.  The process of downloading racing data and managing that data can be controlled by this feature.

Figure 1 - The "Manage Racing Data" Menu

As the user can see from the menu shown in Figure 1, the features of Manage Racing Data include downloading both History and "Today's Programs".  These features are described here - User Guide Introduction.

Two other features, "INPFILES Folder" and "PROGRAMS Folder" allow the user to delete old racing data.

Selecting "INPFILES Folder" for instance, displays the following Windows Folder display.

Figure 2 - Input Files downloaded from the Internet

Sometimes a track may no longer be needed for your handicapping.  You can remove that track by using Windows to delete all of the track files (those shown which begin with the 2 letter track identifier).  Once you have deleted all of those track files, you can EXIT QuickDog, restart QuickDog, and select the REBUILD feature from the second popup of QuickDog.  The REBUILD feature is documented in the Introduction to this User's Guide - CLICK HERE.

Much less frequently, and not typically necessary, the user may wish to delete some QuickDog Program Files, also called ".PRG files".  These files are converted from the files shown in Figure 2 and allow the user to handicap races.  If you delete files in Figure 2, then do a REBUILD, the ".PRG Files" associated with those files deleted in Figure 2 will also be deleted.  You can view the list of .PRG files using the "PROGRAMS Folder" menu bar selection.  However, you should NEVER delete any of these files unless instructed by us.  This feature has been included in case we ask that you use this feature to delete a particular Program File.

If instructed to do so, simply click on this selection and the following list of files will be displayed (your list may vary and depends on the history/programs you have downloaded).

If we ask you to, simply find the file to be deleted, RIGHT CLICK on that filename and on the menu that pops up, click DELETE.

The data downloading features of this menu identical in function to the download features described in the Introduction to this User's Guide - CLICK HERE.
