Export QuickDog Data to Comma Delimited Format Files

Currently there are 9 different formats to select from when you wish to Export QuickDog data. So, the user must click on the FORMAT button shown in Figure 2 until the selection desired appears within that window. Depending on the format selected other items on this menu may or may not be required for selection. For information on each of the export data formats and what other information is required, click on the HELP button for a notepad popup then study that notepad before going further with this tutorial. After selecting the other buttons and entering the required information, the user can select the EXPORT button and QuickDog will produce a file containing the requested data. That file can then be imported into other programs. In this mode of use QuickDog acts are your data management tool but another program you have would actually be used to handicap or to supplement the features of QuickDog.

After selecting the EXPORT button, the user will sometimes be prompted to select a date range with the popup shown in Figure 3 above. Simply click on items in the FROM DATE area then from the TO DATE area. Accept what you've entered by clicking on the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON. If you simply want to use all dates, then you can CLEAR the dates selected by clicking on the CLEAR - USE ALL DATES button. Although there is room for up to 5 years of historical data, this display only shows the most recent year and one year back for data selection. The reason is that the user setting for Multiple Years of data is set to NO. This selection may be changed by using the EDIT menu bar item, and by selecting the Multi-Year Data feature for edit. Once you have selected the dates, click the Right Mouse Button to continue to export your data.
Your entire database will be scanned and a file will be created (sometimes 2 files or more) containing the data you've requested for export. Once again, consult the HELP button on QuickDog's EXPORT popup for more information on what is in each type of file exported.
